Deck The Halls Page 4

He knew exactly what his brother was referring to even without him saying it. He was having second thoughts about their little Christmas plan for Gloria. The plan was simple; convince Gloria their feelings for her were real, persuade her to spend Christmas with them, and use their time together over the holidays to see if she not only wanted but could handle the type of relationship they did. Half the fun was the way they planned on going about it. They were going to give her a taste of what it would be like to be their woman. Making love to her both separately and together. As much as possible. In every position possible. Even now when his temper was running high, the thought of Gloria and all the things he hoped to do to her had his cock at half mast.

“Yes, I remember. But you know as well as I do that we need to call the plan off. Postpone it ‘til later when she isn’t being hunted by her psychotic ex.” Jake’s voice as he paced their father’s office brought him back to the present.

“This doesn’t change things, Jake.” The look he shot Jason while he stopped in mid-step told him Jake couldn’t believe he had the nerve to say that. Jake resumed pacing as Jason continued.

“We both agreed we were tired of pussy footing around with Gloria. It’s either our Christmas plan or one of us getting slapped with a sexual harassment suit at the office. The way I see it the only thing this changes is our time table.…And we get to skip a step.”

“I want her to come to us because that’s what she wants. Not because her life is in danger and she has no other choice.”

“She’ll still have a choice, Jake. We’re not going to force our lifestyle on her.” Jake sighed and shook his head. “Look I know this isn’t how we’d hoped, but what was I supposed to do? I couldn’t let them take her away. You know as well as I do that if we hadn’t done something she would’ve been gone and we probably would’ve never seen her again. We’ve searched for years for the one woman we both love, who could love the both of us back equally. The one woman who wants and needs us both equally, as much as we want and need her. Now that we finally found her, I wasn’t about to lose her to those idiot marshals. Nor to some asshole ex with an axe to grind.”

“That’s not what I’m saying. Of course we needed to do something. No one will watch over her better then we can. And we both probably would’ve went nuts worrying about her if we weren’t around to see she was fine. My problem is us taking advantage of the stressful situation she’s in.”

  “Taking advantage? How—”

“She’s scared, vulnerable, and going to feel like she’s alone in this except for the two of us. And what are we proposing to do? Act like a couple of hound dogs desperate to jump her bones.” Jason reminded himself not to laugh as that statement wasn’t too far from the truth. They both were well aware that their need for Gloria was dire. “All the while hoping she happens to fall in love with the both of us and can handle a three-way relationship for the rest of our lives. It’s too much going on for her right now. We can’t expect her to make a lifelong commitment to two men while knee-deep in shit. I mean for crying out loud. You told her we’d pretend we both were dating her. You and I both know that if we go there with her there will be no pretending involved on our parts.”

The tension in Jake’s body was palpable. His pacing was Jake’s only outlet. Jason sat back and shook his head. Gloria had the both of them tied in knots for months now. But the knowledge that she was in danger might just push his poor brother over the edge. One of the reasons they both knew Gloria was the one was how she managed to affect them both in ways no one else ever had. She brought out a sensitive and caring side to bullheaded Jake that he never even knew existed. Jason has always been the quiet reserved twin. Yet whenever he was around Gloria she always brought out his He-man cavemen tendencies that were more characteristic of his brother than him. Jason always thought of himself and Jake as two-sides of the same coin. Gloria’s influence on them further proved his point.

“Yes I know. Being in constant close quarters with her is a recipe for things to heat up quickly.” A man would have to be dead not to be affected by the constant sight of her.

Gloria was slightly shorter than the both of them at average height with all the right curves in all the right places. With breasts and an ass that could tempt a priest. Gloria had one of those bodies that looked enticing and exotic no matter what she wore; casual or business wear. They hadn’t had the pleasure of seeing Gloria all dressed up and decked out to the nines, but he bet she looked fantastic. While Jake and Jason’s complexion became naturally darkened by years out in the sun, Gloria’s Latina heritage was responsible for her nice golden brown skin. She always kept her long curly dark brown hair pinned up and back for work. Jason often found himself daydreaming of pulling it free of its hairclip and running his fingers through it. Just thinking of her lying in bed right down the hall from his, with all that luscious hair sprawled out on her pillow, was making his dick even harder. And they hadn’t even taken her home yet.

Jason adjusted his expanding erection as he continued.

“Look I get what you’re saying. I don’t like the thought of her ex after her factoring into her decision anymore than you do. But knowing her ex was a real jack ass doesn’t change how I feel about her. Does it change yours?” Jason already knew Jake’s answer, but he needed to ask the question anyway. For years they tried to find a separate woman for each of them with no success. Each time both brothers felt like something was missing in their relationships, and it didn’t take them long to realize what it was. Each other.

They tried everything. Even being swingers, but it didn’t take them long to realize that it wasn’t for them. Sure women were willing to sleep with the both of them, but eventually they ended up favoring one brother above the other. That wasn’t what either Jason or Jake wanted. That wasn’t what they needed. They needed one woman who’d love them both equally. A woman who’d never be happy with just one of them. They were a package deal and they needed one woman to make them complete. After years of searching they knew in their hearts that Gloria was the one. Now they only had to convince her of that.

“You know it doesn’t. That woman was born to be ours. I know it and you know it.” Jake replied. At 30 years of age there never once was another woman that they both felt so strongly about and felt such an instant connection with. The only thing left to see was if Gloria Lopez wanted them as much as they wanted her and if she could handle having two dominant men in her life.

“Good. Then I believe it's time we let her know it.”

Jake didn’t respond. He ran his fingers through his loose side bangs; a clear sign he was running out of objections. Jason completely understood Jake’s objection. He didn’t want to feel like he’d taken advantage of the situation or forced Gloria’s hand in her decision about the three of them. Neither Jake nor Jason would force Gloria into something she didn’t want, but Jason had a feeling Gloria was a lot stronger and feistier then even she knew. Even though their first inclination when it came to her was to protect her from any harm that might come her way, there was also this sense that she knew how to take care of herself. Jason had a feeling that no matter the circumstances surrounding them when Gloria finally realized what they wanted, she’d make the decision based off what her mind and her heart wants. Nothing else.

“Hey you know what they say: ‘Life is what happens when you’re busy making plans.’ We don’t know how long this situation with Ortiz will last and I for one don’t want to wait in limbo for much longer. Especially when what I want most is within arm's reach. And I know you feel the same,” Jason added.

“I just don’t want her to start questioning her decision about being with us later on down the line. I don’t think I could handle it if she changes her mind and decides to leave one or the both of us. Having a taste of what we want only to lose it might be worse then never getting it at all,” Jake replied. His vulnerability coming across loud and clear.

“Even if we waited ‘til this whole situation with her ex
blows over there is still no guarantee that five to ten years down the line we’ll still all be together. Anything could happen to any of us. She could leave us or one of us could die. Remember bro, tomorrow is never promised. All we have is now and making the most of it. We can hope and pray and do everything in our power to make tomorrow the way we want it to be, but there is never a guarantee that it will. We also can’t let fear that it won’t turn out the way we want stop us from going after her. Then we’d lose her automatically.”

Jake finally stopped pacing and sighed. Jason knew he’d finally gotten his brother back on board. “If it makes you feel better, I bet this whole situation with Ortiz is the reasons she seemed to be running scared whenever we tried to get close.”

Jake nodded as he said, “Yeah, I figured that too. Either she’s scarred from Ortiz or she’s afraid that getting too close to anyone will lead to her past being revealed.”

“Well, the second reason is no longer a problem now that we know. If it’s the first one…then it may be more difficult to get her to open up to us emotionally than we originally thought. I’m thinking we may want to engage her separately at first. See how she reacts to us individually and hopefully give her a chance to bond with us both independently before we broach the subject of sharing. If Gloria already has trust established with each of us separately then it won’t be that far of a leap for her to trust being with the both of us together,” Jason said. Jake shook his head in agreement as he looked at the opposite wall and contemplated everything they’d discussed. Jason grabbed the remaining coffee, stood, and walked the few steps over to Jake. Jake’s eyes lost their faraway look to stare at his brother as he handed over the other coffee.

“So we’re not going to wait ‘til we’re all together to approach her sexually?”

“No. Not for the first time. For the most part only the fact that we plan to seduce her will be premeditated. Everything else will be spur of the moment. It makes the encounter more like it would be on a regular basis if she does choose to be our woman.”

“So whenever the moment feels right just go for it.”

“That’s right. We’ll leave the planning for another time.” Finally back on the same page, Jake reached out and reopened the office door. They both exited and made their way back to their desks.

As expected, a few more deputies had arrived for their shifts. The front desk phone rang shortly before Tina’s voice was heard answering it. They could see their father and the two marshals still huddled together strategizing. It was such an ordinary scene where everything seemed to be as it should. Yet the normalcy of the office almost seemed surreal to Jason as he and his brother stepped out their father’s office. As they returned to his desk, Jason felt strange. Almost as if the entire world shifted its axis. But it hadn’t. Just his, his brother’s, and Gloria’s had changed. With all of this jumbled around inside his head, he was still expected to return to his desk to finish up paperwork from the previous day. As if it were just another sleepy Thursday afternoon and everything was business as usual. Writing up the paperwork on teens driving under the influence all the while saving the woman they loved from a dangerous fugitive remained top priority in their mind.

Then it hit him that this must be how Gloria felt and viewed everything here for the last six months. Having to put on a brave face as if nothing was wrong all the while in the back of her mind she kept secret all the horrible things she’d been through in the past. As well as her fear that someone would see right through her new identity. Thinking of her made Jason look up and glance towards the back of the station in the direction of the file room.

Sensing his twin’s thoughts and where they had led him, Jake said, “I know what you’re thinking 'cause I’m thinking it too, but you need to resist a little longer. This morning’s meeting was a lot for her to swallow and she needs time alone to deal with it. Let’s give her a little longer before we go check on her.”

Jason knew his brother was right and hated having to wait once again to check on her. He huffed loudly as he reached for his mug full of station coffee and his large coffee Gloria bought him. Both were room temp. He needed caffeine and to drown himself in work. Anything to stop himself from going back to that file room, throwing Gloria over his shoulder, and walking right out of the precinct with her. He’d pile her into his car and drive her straight out to the ranch. Once there, he’d take her straight to one of the bedrooms. Strip them both completely naked before throwing her down on the bed. Then he’d proceed to fuck her long and hard. He’d screw her so well that neither of them would be able to think about anything else but the pleasure.

He’d have her panting and moaning as he played with her large firm breasts. Seeing if they were as soft as he thought they were. Screaming his name as she gasped in pleasure. By the time he was finished with her, there wouldn’t be any doubt in her mind who she belonged to. Then he’d do it all over again and love every minute of it.

He was glad his desk shielded the raging hard-on he was sporting as he got down to business. Before Jason knew it, it was almost lunch time. The two U.S. Marshals had already left, after they made sure the Ortiz file was fully transmitted. Jason noticed they left without saying anything to him, his brother, or Gloria, and he wondered if they did that purposely to avoid drawing attention towards them. He’d never know, but in the grand scheme of things, it didn’t really matter that much.

Once the fax was complete and the marshals left, their father took the file into his office where he stayed for the rest of the day. As usual, no one disturbed him unless they needed to ask him a question. Jason bet instead of doing his regular work he was in there looking over the file on Ortiz, and he couldn’t wait for his turn to review that file. That, of course, would come later. Now it was time to check on Gloria. He’d waited long enough and going now to see what her plans were for lunch sounded like the perfect excuse to do so.

“I’m going to see if Gloria wants lunch at the diner today or if she’s in the mood for something else.” Jason barely waited long enough to see Jake’s nod before walking determinedly toward the file room. He covered the space between his desk and the file room in record time. As usual the room had a number of files stacked in neat piles. Each stack of files going some place different. It always amazed Jason how easily Gloria kept everything straight. Even though there really wasn’t that much crime in their town, they sure did manage to create a lot of incident reports, and somehow Gloria handled it all by herself with ease. At the moment, she was currently copying some pages from a file at the copier. Whenever needed, she made copies for deputies, the sheriff, and anyone else who worked in law enforcement and needed access to those files.

“Hey baby doll, you almost ready for lunch?”

At the sound of his voice, Gloria jumped slightly before turning to the side to face him. She wasn’t usually this jumpy and the smile she shot him didn’t reach her eyes like it usually did. Gloria tried very hard to put on a strong face and pretend like everything was normal but they both knew it wasn’t. She didn’t look like she was on the verge of tears anymore so he knew she was doing better then she was this morning when she left the sheriff’s office. But her body language was still wound up tight.

“Hey Jason. Um…actually, I’m not that hungry today. I was just thinking about working through lunch.”

“Oh no. You’ve worked hard enough for one morning. Come have lunch at the diner with us. We’ll even sit at your favorite booth near that old juke box and we’ll get you a strawberry shake. Come on, lunch is on me,” Jason said as he walked in the room to stand next to her.

“Jason if you and Jake want to go eat at the diner you can. I promise not to leave the precinct without you. You two don’t have to babysit me during your lunch break,” Gloria leaned in and whispered, making sure her voice didn’t carry out of the file room and into the rest of the precinct.

Jason couldn’t believe her so he smiled as he leaned in to whisper back. “Now Gloria, how many times hav
e all three of us had lunch together?”

“I don’t know. Every day? Almost?”

“So why in God’s name would you think we only want to have lunch with you because of our new situation?” Gloria leaned her head forward into her hand as she realized how silly she sounded. Of course Jason and Jake would ask her to lunch. They asked her every chance they got. It was all part of their plan for Gloria to get to know them better and get used to the both of them being around.

“I’m sorry. I guess I wasn’t thinking for a minute there. See you two don’t want to have lunch with me today. My brain is completely frazzled.”

“It’s alright. This morning's meeting blindsided you. It did all of us, but just remember no matter what comes next we’ll face it together.” Gloria gave him a small smile and at least this time it looked more genuine. “Now since your brain is frazzled you definitely need to take a lunch break. So come on and let’s go get some food in you,” Jason added as he once again raised his voice to normal speaking levels.

“Thanks Jason. I really appreciate it, but honestly I don’t feel like being very social right now. I kind of want to stay here in the file room.” Jason could understand that. The local diner was always crowded during lunch time. Their food was good. The prices were right. It was not only centrally located, it was also the only diner in town. And all the locals tended to congregate there to laugh, chat, and gossip with each other. Going to lunch there would definitely turn into a social event and understandably Gloria wasn’t in the mood to deal with it today. She also knew that unless someone needed a file or a copy no one would bother her in the file room. He understood her wanting to be alone, but he also didn’t want her fear of Ortiz turning her into a recluse. One of the main reasons they all agreed to keep her in Arizona instead of placing her in a safe house was because they wanted Gloria to have a chance to continue living a normal life. Which didn’t include her cutting herself off from the world. For today he wouldn’t push the matter, but if she continued withdrawing from her normal routines, he and Jake were going to have to figure someway to snap her out of it.
